Like many schools, The Axe Valley Community College has developed an approach to CPD that involves some form of trio work. We have used it as the key ‘development’ part of whole college training, which starts with expert training input (last year this was on Kagan Co-Operative Learning) and then progresses to all staff applying new learning and exploring this through the trio work. The question being asked through the R+D project is interesting: what lessons can be learnt between schools? I’m looking forward to playing a part in this project. I will be attending a planning meeting in Nottingham on 29th November with other members of the SW Teaching School Action Research cluster on behalf of JCTSA.
